A psychic medium is a person who is able to communicate with sprits and pass that information on to others. Psychics, on the other hand, are people who are able to detect and interpret energy. They have an innate ability to perceive the world without using the five senses. All mediums are usually psychic as well, but they alone possess the ability to communicate with the spirits. The purpose of a medium is to bridge the physical realm and the spiritual realm, often to relay messages from the deceased to the living. Psychic mediums usually have one or more of the following abilities:
Also described as “clear seeing,” clairvoyance is the ability to see anything that is not physical present, usually in the form of objects, animals, or people. Mediums of this nature generally have what is considered a “mind’s eye,” or ability to see without the use of the eyes. Some clairvoyant mediums can see a spirit in the same way that you or I see a physical body. Other mediums see the spirit is if it were a photograph.
Also described as “clear hearing,” clairaudience is the ability to hear the voices or thoughts of spirits. Some clairaudience mediums hear the voices as if the spirit were sitting next to them; others hear the voices as verbal thought.
Clairsentinence, or “clear feeling,” is the ability to take on the ailments of the spirit. Mediums with the ability feel the same physical afflictions the spirit suffered with before death.
Also known as “clear knowing,” claircognizance is the ability to “just know.” Some mediums claim to have the feeling that a message or situation is “right” or “wrong.” Others can simply sense things without using normal or psychic senses. Claircognizance is similar to what some refer to as “mother’s instinct,” or the ability to just know what a situation needs attention. Unlike mother’s instinct, claircognizance relates to the spiritual side of life.
Although these are the most common medium abilities, others include Clairsentinence, or “clear feeling,” Clairalience, or “clear smelling,” and Clairgustance, or “clear tasting.”
Losing a loved one to death, especially an unexpected death, is extremely painful. Psychic mediums can aid in resolving some of those painful feelings by providing a conduit between the physical and spiritual world. Unresolved questions and feelings can linger for decades, often at the expense of the loved one that has been left behind. Resolving those issues can lead to a sense of closure that is necessary to move on.
Psychic mediums employ a variety of skills and abilities to connect the two worlds. As with any psychic, there are those who claim to possess these abilities whose motives are far from pure. Do not trust your intimate feelings with a fraud. Investigate a medium before choosing to participate in a session. Trust your instincts. The experience of consulting a psychic medium can be valuable and rewarding. Choosing the right one is the first step towards enjoying that type of experience.
