Clairaudience might not be as well-known as clairvoyance, but it is equally impressive. Like its better known cousin, clairaudience gets its name from French, and can translated as “clear hearing”. This should give you an idea regarding what clairaudience is all about…
As you’ve probably worked out by now, clairaudience is the ability to hear sounds and voices that other people are not able to hear. These sounds and voices are usually interpreted as coming from spirits or from a deity, and only a select few are able to hear these sounds correctly. There are two different types of clairaudience, and these are described below.
This is when people hear inner voices and is sometimes called audible thinking. It’s almost akin to being spoken to by your own conscience, in the fact that it is your own mind speaking to you and not an external body. It is thought that these types of voices come from your astral body, hence why it is often called your astral voice.
External clairaudience, as the name suggests, is when you hear a voice that is not your own. It is the rarer form of clairaudience. Most of the time the voice that is heard is different from the clairaudient’s own voice. It is also the case that some external clairaudients also experience elements from clairvoyance and clairolfaction at the same time, therefore giving the sounds they hear a visual representation and smell as well. Therefore, the overall experience can be a very strong one.
Proof of Sounds
You might have seen psychics and investigators on TV using Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) as a way to record the sounds and voices that clairaudients hear. These sounds and voices can then be listened to by those without clairaudient abilities. If you are keen to further understand the world of clairaudience, listening to some of these recordings on YouTube is probably a good place to start.
Overcoming Initial Fears
Hearing voices for the first time is often a scary experience – some people think they are going mad and that there is something wrong with them. There’s no need to worry though, as there is a massive difference between clairaudience and hearing voices due to mental illness – differences you will realize straight away when you experience your clairaudient abilities for the first time. The best thing to do is to sit back and listen, as you could be receiving an important piece of information!
